Lucia Noto
Lucia Noto, Founder and CEO of Butterfly Books, is a passionate advocate for literacy, service, and community engagement. A rising sophomore at Rice University, she is pursuing a degree in Biosciences with a concentration in Cell Biology and Genetics on the pre-medical track.
At Rice, Lucia is actively involved in numerous leadership roles, serving as Director of Outreach for Women in STEM, Head of the Fundraising Committee for Medic Outpost, Outreach Director for MusicMDs, Co-Director of Education for the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative, Lead Chair of the Medical Humanities Club Lunch & Learn Program, and Coordinator of the McMurtry College Philanthropy Committee.
Beyond campus, Lucia hosts the Talk to Lucia: Medical Careers Podcast on Spotify, where she interviews healthcare professionals and explores diverse career pathways in medicine. She is also involved in biomedical research, volunteers in medical clinics, and serves as Vice President of Events for The Do Re Mi Project, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing music education and performance opportunities to underserved communities.
Lucia’s commitment to Butterfly Books is rooted in her belief that every child deserves access to literature and the opportunities that reading creates. Her communities of focus include socioeconomically disadvantaged youth and children with medical challenges. Through her leadership and service, she strives to make a meaningful impact in her community and beyond. In all of her endeavors, Lucia exemplifies a deep commitment to serving others and a steadfast dedication to "transforming lives, one book at a time."
